Programs Offered: MSN
MSN Program Details: At a time when healthcare is increasingly shaped by evolving patient needs, disparities, and a growing demand for specialized care, Women's Health Nurse Practitioners are in demand more than ever before. If you are committed to holistic care, health equity, and advancing women's health, the WHNP in Florida offered at Keiser University is a program that may interest you! The program is available part-time or full-time, allowing you to complete your degree in 20 to 30 months.
The program is delivered in a hybrid format that combines online coursework with short, intensive residencies and practicums. While most coursework is online and asynchronous, some classes may require your attendance on campus at set times. This MSN Women's Health NP program is built on a foundation that is patient-centered, socially conscious, and inclusive. The 51-credit curriculum focuses on the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of women throughout the lifespan. In this program, you will take classes, including Roles & contexts for the Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Reproductive Care, Human Diversity, Global Health, & Social Issues, and Women's Healthcare Across the Lifespan.
Clinical training is embedded throughout the curriculum. Clinical courses are complemented by clinical practicum experiences totaling at least 600 hours. Clinicals are completed in diverse settings and arranged collaboratively between students and faculty. When possible, clinicals are arranged at or near your home region.
MSN Admission Requirements: To be considered for admission to the MSN WHNP program at Keiser University, you need a baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program and an active, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse. In addition to completing a Graduate School application, you are required to submit a curriculum vitae or resume, a Personal Statement, three letters of recommendation, and official transcripts from all colleges or universities you have attended. A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.

2. Florida A&M University - Tallahassee
Programs Offered: MSN and Post-Master's Certificate (APN & Non-APN)
MSN Program Details: Florida A&M University offers one of the best Master of Science in Nursing WHNP programs in Florida. You can choose to enroll in the online program, or you can pursue the program through the in-person, campus-based format. Admission occurs three times each year in the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Part-time and full-time enrollment options are available. Part-time students typically take seven semesters to complete the program, and students who pursue the program full-time usually graduate in five semesters.
The MSN WHNP program is a 42-credit pathway. Advanced courses in pathophysiology, pharmacology, and health assessment are combined with specialty-relevant courses, including Advanced Women's Health, Clinical Management of Older Adults, and Role of the Advanced Practice Nurse in Health Promotion & Disease Prevention. Didactic coursework is delivered online. One campus residency is required. The program includes a minimum of 600 clinical hours, which are distributed across multiple practicum courses. Practicums are arranged at approved sites as close to your home region as possible.
MSN Admission Requirements: Admission to the MSN program at Florida A&M University is reserved for individuals who possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program and hold a current, unencumbered RN license. Admission is a two-step process, requiring you to be accepted to the University and then to the School of Nursing. You must begin the application process by completing an online Graduate application and submitting an application fee. Additionally, you are required to submit official transcripts from each post-secondary school you previously attended, three letters of recommendation, a resume, a Statement of Professional Goals, an admission essay, and other materials, if requested. If your college GPA is less than 3.0, you may apply, but must also submit GRE (verbal and quantitative scores of 300) or GMAT scores (at least 500). A cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 for the last 60 credits of undergraduate coursework is required.
Post-Master's Certificate (APN) Program Details: If you have previously earned a master's degree in nursing and wish to add the Women's Health NP specialty, the Post-Master's Certificate program is an excellent option. The PMC program offers pathways for students who are currently licensed nurse practitioners and a pathway for non-APN students.
To earn the Post-Master's Certificate, you must have a total of 42 earned credits. You may transfer up to 22 of the 42 required credits from your previous master's degree program. A curriculum plan will be developed for you based on the total of acceptable transfer credits. All students in the Post-Master's Certificate program complete at least 600 clinical hours.
Post-Master's Certificate (APN) Admission Requirements: To be eligible for admission to the Post-Master's Certificate program for APNs, you need a master's degree in nursing from a nationally accredited nursing program, a current, unrestricted RN license in Florida or a Compact State, and evidence of current practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse (CNM, CNS, CRNA, or NP). You must submit three professional references, a Statement of Professional Goals, and transcripts from all colleges or universities you have attended. You must have a graduate GPA of at least 2.8 for all work attempted in the master's degree program.
Post-Master's Certificate (Non-APN) Program Details: One of my favorite things about nursing is that there are endless opportunities to advance your career by earning a new degree or certification. For example, the Post-Master's Certificate program for non-APNs offers a pathway to becoming a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner.
Like the MSN and Post-Master's APN Certificate program, you must earn a minimum of 42 total credits and complete 600 clinical hours. You may transfer up to six credits from your previous master's program. The remaining 36 credits must be completed at Florida A&M. Once a GAP analysis is performed, an individualized plan of study will be developed for you.
Post-Master's Certificate (Non-APN) Admission Requirements: Admission to the Post-Master's Certificate program for Non-APN applicants requires proof of a master's degree in nursing from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program and a current, valid, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or the state where you are currently practicing. You are required to submit three professional references, a Goals Statement, and official transcripts from all post-secondary schools. Transcripts should reflect a 2.8 or higher grade point average for all master's degree coursework.
