Lee Ann M. Box, MSN, RN
Lee Ann M. Box is a critical care nurse and Associate Professor of Nursing. At present, she has over 20 years of nursing and education experience.
Lee Ann’s work history includes current clinical experience in medical, trauma, and Covid ICU where she has practiced in both large teaching hospitals and community-based hospitals. In addition to her faculty role in an undergraduate nursing program, she has taught in a Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program and has also worked as a hospital-based nurse educator. She also has experience as an in-house legal nurse consultant for a plaintiff’s law firm.
Believing that learning is a lifelong process, Lee Ann is a doctoral candidate pursuing her Ed.D. in Nursing Education and Instructional Leadership. Her academic interests are curriculum development, and the importance of mentoring programs for new nursing faculty members. In addition, her research interests include incivility between nursing faculty within nursing programs.
Lee Ann is committed to educating future nurses and equipping them to be able to provide safe and efficient nursing care in today’s ever-changing healthcare system. She prides herself on being a facilitator who helps students develop confidence in their critical thinking skills, clinical judgment, and safe practice autonomy. Likewise, she is a firm believer that a positive work environment will foster professional growth and development and serves her university through committee work aimed at positive climate and culture.
A native of Mississippi, she has lived in Louisiana for over a decade and considers it her home. She is a wife, mother to two amazing young men, a fur-mom to 3 spoiled cats, and a fur-grandmom to one exceptional Labrador Retriever.
