Julie Monroe BSN, RN

Julie Monroe is a registered nurse, freelance science writer, and graduate student who is completing an MSN in Forensic Nursing. She is passionate about nursing research, medical writing, and the pursuit of social justice for all of those who are marginalized within the healthcare system. Over the past 15 years, Julie has worked in med/surg and ortho/trauma nursing, freelanced as a medical and science writer, and performed research as a lab scientist in the medical device and agricultural industries.

A native Texan, Julie now resides in the Midwest and is a mom to three boys. She spends her free time blogging, running/swimming, and listening to as many podcasts as possible. She also volunteers with a local No One Dies Alone hospital program, sitting with dying patients who have no family or friends available.
