Students in this program complete 72 semester hours. In addition to general education requirements, you will complete classes including Cultural Diversity in America, Concepts of Nursing Practice, Pharmacology and the Nursing Process, and Basic Nursing Procedures.

Clinical Training: Program faculty arrange clinical training sites and identify experienced preceptors. You will complete at least 500 clinical practice hours in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, outpatient facilities, physicians' offices, long-term care facilities, and community health centers.


How Fast Can You Complete This Program: The LPN-to-RN program at Joliet Junior College is designed to be completed in three semesters.


Admission Requirements: To be accepted to the online 1-year LPN-to-RN program at Joliet Junior College, you must be a licensed LPN in the state of Illinois. You must apply to and be accepted to the college and then complete a separate application for the nursing program.

Darby Faubion is a nurse and allied health instructor with over 20 years of clinical experience. Her work history includes clinical experience in pediatrics, mental health, addiction and behavioral disorders, geriatrics, wound management, and communicable disease. Darby has worked in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and home health and hospice agencies. Darby also has experience as a nursing and allied health educator at both community college and university levels.
